Located near the picturesque town of Llangollen, Tyn Dwr Hall is one of the more unusual wedding venues in North Wales and promises a tranquil and awe-inspiring country escape for your wedding.
Tyn Dwr Hall is a family run destination wedding venue having gone through a full restoration by Mathew, Victoria and Tracey. Three generations of the family are still involved to this day.
Mathew and Victoria Jones
Mathew and Victoria stumbled upon the hall one morning whilst out walking, they fell in love almost immediately, and so began the loving restoration. Mathew’s background of owning a construction company gave him the vision of what Tyn Dwr could be, with Victoria guiding his sometimes-eccentric ideas in the right direction. You’ll quite often find the whole family at the hall, the boys love collecting wood and showing guests around - it really is ‘family run’.
I’ve always worked in hospitality, having worked in the Lake District, Manchester and most recently running a country pub on the Duke of Westminster’s estate. Little did I know that one day my brother Mathew would buy the most enchanting hall, with the idea of creating a breath taking wedding venue.
Senior Wedding & Events Manager
Poppy lives and breathes weddings and has worked within the industry for over 10 years. On a day to day basis Poppy manages the weddings and events ensuring every detail ‘behind the scenes’ and on the day is perfect. Poppy is kind and friendly and will do anything for anyone! Her one true love is her beautiful little dog ‘Desmond’ and swapping her heels for trainers to run around the valley!
Kim is one of Tyn Dwr Hall's amazing Wedding Managers. Kim has an eye for all things creative and loves to be involved in the little details that a couple wants, including in their big day. She is an outdoorsy girl, married to a farmer, has two spaniels, Sam and Jack, and is mum to little George!
Martine is our super glamorous Wedding Manager. Mum to beautiful baby Lola, she has been at Tyn Dwr since day one coping with builders and rubble and loves her role looking after our Couples and events.
He’s the head of the family, or Head Druid as he likes to be known, and he’s building up quite a reputation with guests at the hall. A local boy with vast local knowledge, he’s the first point of contact for your guests on the big day. He is the green keeper, the historian and appreciates a nice glass of red.
Andrew makes sure that everything at the Hall is running smoothly. The first few months have been a steep learning curve with three storey chimneys, strange plumbing arrangements and an ancient well in the cellar. He has a very keen eye for detail which makes him perfect for making sure the Hall and grounds are always immaculate. He wishes he had more time on his bike and dreams of sunny days cycling through France; the valleys around Llangollen will suffice for now.
Andrew will be the gentleman who looks after your guests into the early hours. He’s spent time working abroad in some very interesting places but has his feet firmly settled at home now. We’re not quite sure how he remains so chirpy and upbeat considering the hours he works, but always has a happy smile on his face. If there’s something you want / need, Andrew is the man to ask.
